After Hanoi, we took on an extra excursion of our own to visit Sapa. It’s a mountainous region in the Northwest of Vietnam, where they grow rice on the hillsides called rice terrace, and where many of the tribal Vietnamese minority groups live. It takes 8hrs train ride to get to this area. We trekked down to different villages to see how the locals live their daily lives and taking in the spectacular views and fresh air from this beautiful area. It was quite a fun excursion.
