Sa-wat-dee kraup...
So our suitcases were packed and off we went. We flew Thai Airway on the last leg from Europe to Bangkok. It was great considering we were stuck in Chicago for a few hours due to airplane’s mechanical problem before getting to Brussels. Instead of flying from Brussels to Bangkok, our trip was detoured from Brussels to Munich then to Bangkok. That set us back about half a day. Good thing that we planned to be in Bangkok a couple days early for the unexpected. So we were OK.
Bangkok is a big city and at times seems to be chaotic. Its infra-structure is modern and widespread. Its subway train and overhead tram are running efficiently and clean. For about 120 Thai Bat or about $US4 dollars for a day pass, you can just about getting any where in the city.
In Bangkok, we went to see a Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha Temple. We also went to see the world famous Damnoen Saduak floating market. We loved the atmosphere but a little worry of the food selling on these boats. Instead, we bought a bunch of fruits back to the hotel for a feat of exotic fruits that we were so longing for. Mangcut, Sabuche, Bon-Bon, Vu-Sua…etc, they were deliciously displayed on these boats.
